Nancy Kruys Counselling
Counselling for Women, Adolescents and Kids
Welcome to
Nancy Kruys Counselling
A Warm and Supportive Place for Everyone
Life can feel heavy. Stress, grief, or past trauma can weigh you down.
I’m Nancy Kruys, holding a Master of Counselling, offering compassionate counselling for women, adolescents and children.
Gentle, trauma-informed counselling and optional creative tools like art or clay can help you or your child express emotions and find balance. No creative skills are needed.
“I found I could say things with colour and shapes that I couldn’t say any other way, things I had no words for.”
- Georgia O’Keeffe
Feel welcome to contact me with any questions you may have, including about session costs. I offer free 30-minute introductory sessions, so we can gently explore whether I am the right fit for you or your child. Currently, I am able to offer immediate bookings, so support can begin as soon as you’re ready.
Children
Through play, art or clay children can safely express and explore their emotions. For children who are neurodiverse or trauma exposed, therapeutic sensory play can help calming the nervous system and can create calm and balance.
Adolescents
Express yourself through art, music, clay, roleplay, or just talking.
Women
A safe and supportive space to heal, rebuild strength, and reconnect with your inner self.

How Sessions Work
I provide a client-centred and child-led approach. People can choose if they would like to have a traditional talk therapy session or would like to use art, clay or other creative tools within their session.
Child and client-led approach: Activities are personalised to each individual’s needs, ensuring people feel empowered and in control.
Sensory stimulation: Through simple, hands-on experiences like using clay or shaving foam, children settle, explore, and reconnect with their bodies.
Texture, movement, and playful touch help the nervous system find calm and balance.Creative expression: No creative mind is needed! Using paint or clay can help people express feelings that may be hard to express in words.
Building resilience and confidence: Creative methods can help build problem-solving skills, self-reflection, and confidence to cope with challenges like trauma, stress, or low self-esteem.
Support for all ages: Whether working with children, teenagers, or women, I provide a supportive environment to explore and strengthen emotional well-being.
My approach is especially helpful for those who have faced trauma, emotional regulation difficulties, sensory needs, life transitions, anxiety, stress and overwhelm, grief or self-esteem challenges.
Sessions are available in-person, by phone, video, or chat—whatever feels most comfortable for you.
Professional Registration & Policies

The practice is set on a peaceful rural property, just a 5-minute drive from Palmwoods town. As it is based on a property, the less formal, relaxed environment provides a space where young people can feel at ease, understood, and supported, while adults can unwind and relax.
The space offers toys, games, crafts, paint, and clay, inviting children to have fun and express themselves in a safe and nurturing environment that feels like their own world. Adolescents and adults can experience a sense of calm and peace, with opportunities to connect with nature and take a mindful break from daily stress.
